Blooming Trees
It's February, we are half way into the dry season. The
thirsty earth is covered with dry leaves. The greens are turning brown.
Tourists are walking on the road here on the island, trying to warm their
bodies cooled down by the cold winter of their countries. Everyone looks up
toward the cloud turban covering the head of the Concepción volcano. One of
them approaches me and says: What a beauty! And I agree with a nod and a smile.
But we're not seeing the same thing. I'm seeing the flowers of the trees.
Erythrina fusca, FABACEAE
Gliricidia sepium, FABACEAE
Ceiba pentandra, MALVACEAE
Tacoma stans, BIGNONIACEAE
Árboles en
flor
Estamos en
febrero, a mediados de la estación seca. La tierra sedienta está cubierta de
hojas secas.
